Position OverviewWe are a specialty underwriting company that's been around since 2016. Due to our continued growth, we are in need of an Assistant Underwriter to join our team either in our Washington DC or NYC office. The ideal candidate will have at least a few years of assistant underwriting experience or experience working with Senior Care, Nursing Homes, Hospice and Assisted Living Facilities. You will be responsible for assisting the underwriting team in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of insurance policies. You will work closely with senior underwriters to assess risks and determine policy terms.Key Responsibilities• Partners with underwriters to establish support needs for new and renewal policies (i.e., identify and gather relevant account information to quote or issue policies)• Researches and provides underwriting analysis of account information and ensures overall regulatory compliance• Assists underwriting with submission clearance, rating, binders, policy issuance, cancellations, endorsements, renewal preparation, and state and federal filings• Collaborate with underwriters and senior underwriters to assess risk and ensure compliance with underwriting standards• Communicate with brokers and clients to gather necessary information and respond to inquiriesQualifications• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors Degree preferred• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry• P&C License or Producers License is a plus• Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsBenefits• Competitive Base Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 (DOE) + Bonus• Health• Dental• Vision• PTO• 401KEmail Your Resume In Word ToLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
