We are seeking a talented Design Engineer with expertise in TypeScript and React to join our innovative team in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will leverage AI developer tools and frontend technologies to create robust, user-friendly applications while owning the design and iteration process from low-fidelity mockups to high-fidelity prototypes.The team goes onsite 5 days a week to our downtown Mountain View, CA office which is within walking distance of the Caltrain station, accessible from San Francisco, and with commuter benefits.Key Responsibilities• Develop and maintain frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and Next.js• Utilize Tailwind CSS and Figma for designing responsive and visually appealing user interfaces• Collaborate with AI researchers to integrate AI-powered developer tools and enhance user experience with features like code autocomplete and in-editor chat assistants• Engage in user research and product iteration to ensure alignment with user needs and business goals• Take ownership of projects, leading brainstorming sessions and driving design from concept to execution• Evaluate and optimize performance of applications to ensure scalability with large data sets• Work cross-functionally with engineers and product teams to deliver high-quality AI products• Implement best practices for code attribution and work with licensed code ensuring complianceQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field• Proven experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS• Experience creating low, medium, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma (must have portfolio to be considered)• Experience working with early stage, high growth startups• Familiarity with AI developer tools and language models• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders• Self-starter with a passion for AI products and innovative design solutionsBenefits• Competitive base salary ($140-220k depending on experience)• 401k nonelective contribution• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• Cool office in Mountain View with Snacks, Swag, and more!Email Your Resume In Word ToLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
