Nearly every CF medicine available today was made possible because of Foundation support. POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Post-Award, reporting to the GCMA Director (Post-Award), plays a pivotal role in guiding post-award services within an assigned medical division. This division encompasses the CF Foundation’s medical grants portfolio, spanning Research Affairs, Clinical Trials, and Clinical Affairs. As a mentor and leader, the manager oversees Specialists and Coordinators, ensuring timely compliance with regulations and policies. Additionally, they serve as a liaison between the Foundation and awardees, collaborating closely with Program Officers to manage and enhance grant programs. The Manager, Post-Award, contributes significantly to policy development and operational excellence within the GCMA department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General Manage team productivity and service levels. Assign and monitor tasks for Specialists and Coordinators. Measure operational output and propose strategic solutions. Assist in staff hiring, development, and performance management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process coordination. Identify and address operational challenges and prescribe solutions. Maintain and create Standard Operating Procedures for compliance. Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Accounts Payable, Communications). Provide training and excellent customer service. Oversee the award record retention (SharePoint & Grants Management System) for legal and auditing requirements. Adhere to personnel policies and procedure and models professional behaviors; promotes an environment of inclusion and transparency. Management (Post-Award) Drive Strategic Fiscal Performance: develop and implement strategies to enhance fiscal performance within the assigned division. Oversight and Monitoring: maintain executed grants, awards, and contracts. Review monthly payment authorizations. Support internal and external constituents in Post-Award matters. Award Portfolio Management: manage a portfolio of awards and activities (deliverable reviews). Keep Program staff informed of grant reporting deadlines. Process Management: process and review renewal and expense reports for compliance. Prepare and review reports on awards with outstanding contingencies. Collaborate with Program Officers to address delinquent deliverables. Assist in annual audits of awards and contracts. Financial Administration: prepare monthly payment authorization schedules. Verify accuracy of scheduled payments and resolve payment issues with Finance and GCMA Finance. Ensure timely and orderly closeout of awards. Reporting and Compliance: prepare, distribute, and collect reports required by auditors and agencies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of education and relevant work experience in required or related field. Minimum of 4-6 years of grant administration experience. 1-3 years of management or leadership experience along with 1-3 years of nonprofit accounting and grant making experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to prioritize among multiple competing projects. Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external partners. Ability to convey necessary information accurately, listen effectively, and ask questions when clarification is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Experience with CRMs or database systems. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead working groups and people. Exercise excellent judgment and discretion, including proper handling of confidential information. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the GCMA Director. Manages a staff of Specialists and Coordinators. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature. No heavy lifting required. Specific salary varies based on geographic location and is commensurate with experience. This position will be posted for a minimum of 5 days or until the position is filled.
