Job Summary:

The mission of the Senior Global Events Project Manager is to align people and processes across regions and drive the creation and execution of phenomenal event experiences that are a fundamental part of D2L’s marketing plans. And most of all, have a passion for events! 

As a leader within the Global Events Team (GET) in D2L Marketing, you will engage with departments across the organization—and around the world—to drive the international event strategy, planning, logistics, execution, and tracking of events and related productions, and processes. You will create and manage memorable event experiences that engage our clients, prospective clients, and staff alike. 

How you will make an impact: 

  • Drive strategy, cross-functional planning, coordination and event logistics for D2L’s proprietary and sponsored events 
  • Work in close partnership with regional integrated marketing and sales leads to create event strategy that supports regional and global sales and marketing goals 
  • Own and manage event experiences from concept through completion – strategy, event planning and preparation, management of logistics and production on-site, as well as post-event reporting and follow-up - ensuring high-level service throughout. This includes: 
    • Leading cross-functional workstreams, managing timelines, actions, tasks, dependencies, and budgets. 
    • Troubleshooting issues, managing risk mitigation, and identify opportunities and new ideas.    
    • Coordinating the development of materials, assets, messaging, and managing event technical, production, and event logistical elements, liaising and preparing speakers, sponsors, vendors, and event staff. 
    • Using your process expertise to monitor and optimize performance at every stage of the journey to ensure event experiences and related plans are resonating and identify how we can improve. 
    • Maintaining global event calendar and track and report on global impact and clearly communicate activities, goals and results to stakeholders.  
  • Nurture and build strong relationships with internal teams, external vendors, venues, and industry contacts. 
  • Stay current and ahead of the curve on the key industry events to sponsor, as well as event planning, outreach, design, and experience trends, with an eye towards continuous improvement, and sharing insights and learnings across the team. 
  • Manage the daily details with big-picture strategic thinking to ensure unique and immersive event experiences.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, training, growth opportunities and motivation to execute memorable events.  

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Proven experience and success managing end-to-end planning and execution of in-person events. 
  • Proficient project manager, with proven experience leading large cross-functional projects and creating and optimizing cross-functional processes 
  • Resourceful and adaptable to change, with the ability to think quickly under pressure. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Advanced organization, time management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing not only your own priorities in parallel, but also driving cross-functional alignment and workstream accountability with others to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to delegate and clearly communicate responsibility to others to meet expectations. 
  • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management. 
  • Experience in building enriching working relationships and managing external vendor relationships, both in-person and remotely. 
  • Results driven with creative mindset and stamina to recommend and try new things and figure out how to continuously improve.
  • Flexibility to work even at irregular hours and to travel both domestic and internationally, as you’ll be coordinating with regions across the globe.
  • Proficiency with Event Management, Marketing, CRM, and Project management systems and tools would be an asset 
  • In addition to English, proficiency in additional languages, such as Spanish and/or Portuguese, could be an asset to this role that supports activities across several international regions. 

Location Information: This position offers the flexibility to work from your home office within the UK or at our London office in Battersea Power Station, Circus Rd.
