Job Description:

The Data Analyst manages, analyzes, and reports complex information related to admissions for all academic programs in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences in support of institutional decision-making. This valued team member will perform at a high level of professionalism in accordance with all accreditation standards, University and College policies, centralized application service requirements, and other mandates to help ensure the integrity of the admissions process across academic programs and to help chart the strategic direction of enrollment for the future.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement new procedures or processes and use advanced technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
  • Superior quantitative skills including the ability to apply meaningful analyses to complex problems and provide summarized results in a clearly understood format.
  • Highly proficient in advanced features of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), internet use, and web conferencing applications (e.g., WebEx).
  • Thorough understanding of student information systems (e.g., Banner) and document management systems (e.g., ApplicationXtender).
  • Advanced ability to collect, monitor, manage, and report/display data including proficiency in advanced data analysis and data visualization functions of Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organized, demonstrating an exceptional ability to execute multiple, complex, high-priority tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented, demonstrating an exceptional ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision at a high level of precision.
  • Occasional regional travel (e.g., between UToledo campuses, throughout the greater Toledo area, to college campuses within approximately 3 hours travel distance) by automobile may be required.
  • May include occasional lifting of boxes and other items up to 20 lbs.

Required Education/Experience/Licensing:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in educational or health systems research, business, statistics, information technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of management-level, data analysis, or administrative support experience, preferably within the UToledo system, or other academic or healthcare system.
  • Proficiency in SQL, preferably Oracle relational database management systems.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention practices.
