EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst (Network Operations Specialist) in our Network Operations department at our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and implement change management policies.
  • Audit change cases for completeness and adherence to policy.
  • Mentor change requesters to ensure issues with change cases are corrected and that the project/change is ready for production deployment.
  • Conduct change board meetings; input disposition of cases.
  • Prepare and track customer communication letters to customers and help manage the change schedule.
  • Proactively identify issues with changes and procedures.
  • Analyze and derive meaningful metrics and measurements from tickets, maintenance windows, and resource data.
  • Create and report on operational metrics. This includes workforce metrics, trends with performance metrics, and other assigned topics using Tableau.
  • Establish a rapport with end user community to improve services for the customer.
  • Interact with executive management during lock down periods.
  • Use existing or new technologies to solve process problems.
  • Review and develop processes and procedures to improve operational proficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science or combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in process analysis or combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with Tableau to present data and create dashboards
  • Salesforce experience preferred, but knowledge of any ticketing system required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Business-related Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • ITIL Certification preferred
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Intelligence Center for ACD reporting
  • Experience with elastic for data analysis
  • Programming skills in Java and Go
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for quality and continuous process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail skills
  • Quick learner must have initiative and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be able to change priorities quickly and multi-tasking is expected.
  • Must be flexible to perform duties such as technical writing, training, analysis, and other tasks assigned to the Operational Support team.
  • Self-motivated and independent.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
