SUMMARY
The Fuel Pricing Data Analyst is responsible for driving the measurement, analysis, and testing initiatives in support of the fuel pricing department. This role requires a unique blend of business and data analysis skills to transform end-to-end reporting and analytics using agile methods. The successful candidate will leverage robust data sets to optimize the business and support fuel pricing analysts with essential metrics.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports, KPIs, metrics, and dashboards related to pricing decisions, strategies, and customers.
- Develop and implement Databricks notebooks, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and KPIs to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with the fuel pricing team to priorities business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare reports for business users that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Collaborate with business users to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.
- Create documentation that allows business stakeholders to understand data analysis processes and replicate them if necessary.
- Maintain standards for delivery, quality, and visual presentation of delivered PySpark, SQL, Tableau, and Excel solutions.
- Manage knowledge documentation of business KPIs and reporting methods.
- Drive setup and analysis of A/B tests and provide recommendations.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
- Technical expertise in data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Strong knowledge of and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau), Databricks (Python, SQL, or ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of Python Libraries, statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (pandas.)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in queries, report writing, and presenting findings
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics
- Experience with proximity analysis, customer data, financial data, cost analysis, clustering, time series, and sales forecasting
- Familiarity with Databricks, Tableau Prep
