GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Data Coordinator I position is situated within the Harvard Aging Brain Study – a study affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. This Data Coordinator assists the Data & Informatics team in coordinating investigator-initiated studies and developing and overseeing various data acquisition and data harmonization protocols. The Data Coordinator initiates and administers data use agreements and data transfer agreements, as well as being involved in cognitive, neuroimaging and other data quality assurance..
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of data acquisition and harmonization protocols of multiple national Alzheimer’s disease cohorts
- Assisting in IRB submissions and maintaining IRB protocols.
- Assisting in data use agreements and data transfer agreements with other institutions across the US.
- Running data harmonization protocols.
- Administering basic diagnostics on the data (determining missing data, running general data integrity metrics)
- Assisting in the maintenance of research databases, including data entry, regular quality assurance checks, and preparation of specific data for analysis.
- Assisting PI and Data Analyst team with analyses, as well as working on own analyses and publications.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision, prioritizing work according to and within established study protocols
- Excellent organizational skills to accomplish a variety of responsibilities and to establish and maintain efficient systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a variety of people in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to work under stress and within deadlines; the clinical research setting is a very busy and demanding environment.
- Careful attention to detail
- Experience with word processing software. Microsoft Excel experience helpful.
- Experience with R software package desired by not required.
- B.A/B.S. with a background in computer science, biostatistics, applied mathematics or statistics. Individuals without formal training in these areas, but with the requisite experience and desired core skills will also be considered.
- Previous experience in a research setting preferred, but not required.
In-person or hybrid. Hybrid position requires at least one day of in person work per week.
