We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong analytical mindset to join our team and contribute to our data infrastructure and analytics initiatives. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
Analyze operational business workflows to understand data requirements, process dependencies, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using SQL Server and SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
Develop data processes that support online transactional processing workflows, ensuring data integrity and reliability for real-time operations.
Apply critical thinking skills to identify and address data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies in the data pipeline.
Write efficient and scalable SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to manipulate and transform large volumes of data.
Utilize Python programming to develop data processing scripts, automate data workflows, and enhance data integration capabilities.
Utilize Argo, a container-native workflow engine (if applicable), to orchestrate and schedule complex data workflows and job dependencies.
Implement data modeling techniques and best practices to optimize data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
Leverage your analytical skills to identify patterns, trends, and insights from data to support business decision-making processes.
Utilize Snowflake, an innovative cloud-based data platform, to design and manage data warehousing solutions.
Utilize Azure data products such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage to build scalable and efficient data pipelines in a cloud environment.
Collaborate with product team leaders, software engineers, data scientists and analysts to provide them with the necessary data infrastructure and tools for software application data functionality, analysis, and reporting.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing any performance issues, data quality concerns, or system failures.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the field of data engineering and suggest improvements to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
The Specifics.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
4-7 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong experience in SQL Server, SSIS, and Stored Procedures for data integration and ETL processes.
Proficiency in Python programming language for data processing and automation tasks.
Experience with Argo (a plus), a container-native workflow engine, for orchestrating data workflows.
Experience with Snowflake (a plus), a cloud-based data platform, for data warehousing and management.
Working knowledge of Azure data products such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles, data warehousing concepts, and database design.
Strong analytical skills to analyze operational business workflows and identify data requirements and KPIs.
Critical thinking abilities to evaluate data quality, identify anomalies, and provide data-driven insights.
Experience in developing data processes that support online transactional processing workflows.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address issues in data pipelines and ETL processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
Ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly, and stay updated with industry advancements.
