The role, at a glance:
The Data Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing solutions to integrate applications and datasources by evaluating existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and ensure that final solutions meet the organization's needs. This position is responsible for the analysis, design, documentation, development, unit testing, and support of data integration and database object development for software applications on both on-premise and cloud resources. The Data Integration Engineer works closely with the Enterprise Applications team, Business Intelligence Team, IT leadership, business subject matter experts and strategic partners to understand business and operational requirements and implement data integration solutions, procedures, and processes to meet those needs.
How you’ll contribute:
- Design, develop, and implement database processes and solutions for managing and integrating data between operational systems, data repositories and analytical reporting applications.
- Author and review system designs, provides implementation plans, and implements data integration solutions.
- Develop strong business relationships and cross-functional partnerships with IT colleagues and business partners to analyze business and operational needs.
- Recommend and provide guidance regarding data integration, database development, SQL best practices, and development standards as needed.
- Create and propose technical design documentation including current and future functionality, database objects, specifications, and flows/diagrams detailing proposed database and/or data integration implementations.
- Provide support in investigating and troubleshooting production issues.
- Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
A successful candidate should have:
- Strong knowledge of application integration techniques, tools and API use.
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years' experience with business operations, business system integrations, systems development and hands-on support.
- Intermediate knowledge of ETL, replication, change data capture and other data integration techniques and technologies (Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Manager, SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server Visual Studio, etc.).
- Intermediate knowledge of packaged integration tools such as Boomi, Tibco, SSIS, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of database systems and administration, including security, development and testing support, modeling and logical design, database design and qualify control.
- Demonstrate strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to adapt to new methods, techniques and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of logical and physical data modeling and data modeling tools.
- Experience with standard EDI transactions in Order to Cash, Warehousing context is a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and an ability to work effectively in an Agile team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Work environment:
- This is an onsite position based in Beaverton, OR.
- Routine use of standard office equipment.
- Minimal travel (less than 5%)
