The Data & Decisions team plays a critical role in providing best-in-class services, capabilities data and insights that enable the organization to pursue strategic decisions. This team collaborates across Key to make data and information available to stakeholders supporting insights that range from reporting to novel insights, and AI/ML applications.
This role is a one of the key enablers for unlocking the value of our data! KeyBank is looking for a Data Literacy Analyst to support KeyBank’s larger analytical transformation. The Data Literacy Analyst will be part of on an agile squad, working closely with business stakeholders, data consumers, data producers, and data engineering to improve the usability of data through coordinated efforts in data lineage, business definitions of data and data quality to create a best-in-class experience and enabling teams across KeyBank to find, understand, trust and access the data they need.
A successful candidate for this role will be highly curious, a natural learner and be energize by working in a fast paced, dynamic work environment where each day brings new opportunities and challenges. The candidate should be comfortable working in a rapidly evolving data ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities

Design and configure the Enterprise Data Catalog experience to meet the needs of KeyBanks analysts – with a keen focus on improving the efficiency of analysts in their quest to find, understand and use data.

Operationalize integrations with critical databases (e.g., BigQuery, Oracle, etc.), BI tools and other sources of value-add metadata

Decompose reports and dashboards to understand the flow of data

Create job aides and training curriculums for data literacy (e.g., how to use/access critical data-marts, etc.)

Develop dashboard solutions that measures metadata completeness and data catalog adoption rates

Support the Data & Decisions vision by being focused on improving the end-to-end experience of analysts who work with data

Active participant in backlog refinements and ongoing story writing
Key skills
-
High curiosity – eager to figure things out, solve problems, research & learn

(2) + years experience in a data stewardship or related roles

Intermediate SQL skills and foundational knowledge of database models

Understanding of technical and business metadata that is available in modern databases and BI vendors

Experience working with one or more tools used to support data management, data catalog, business glossary and metadata management, data profiling, data quality and data modeling (e.g., Alation, Collibra, OvalEdge, ERWIN, Informatica, etc.).

Hands on experience working on agile teams using either scrum or Kanban. Story writing a plus.

Familiarity of large-scale data ecosystems & how data moves through data supply chains

Familiarity with cloud database providers (e.g., Google cloud platform (GCP)/BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS, etc.)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $60,000 to $92,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
