At Jumio, you will work for a market leader providing solutions to ensure online trust and to make the digital world a safer place for everyone. You will be instrumental in building the next generation data platform to increase the scalability and modularity as Jumio grows.
As a Platform Engineer working in the data domain, you will architect and build the fundamental tools and infrastructure leveraged by data producers and consumers at Jumio. You’ll be solving complex problems in innovative ways and collaborating with exceptionally talented colleagues.
Set up infrastructure, tools, and libraries that enable stakeholder teams to conveniently produce/consume data and create data products to power ML and product use-cases-
Enforce data governance via tools like schema registry and programmatically enforced methodologies

Set up data catalog and data lineage services to increase metadata availability & discoverability

5+ years of software / data platform engineering experience

Lead contributor to successful large scale data platforms

Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform)

Knowledge of data-specific infrastructure components (e.g. Kafka, AWS Kinesis) & Big Data technologies (e.g. Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams)

Understanding of data storage principles and data formats (e.g. Avro, Protobuf, Parquet, Delta, or other formats)

Understanding of governance and security requirements around sensitive data

Proficiency in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala or Kotlin)

Strong knowledge of orchestrating distributed microservices and the related tooling (e.g. Docker, AWS ECS, or other containerization & orchestration tools)

Experience with software development patterns, best practices (e.g. TDD), and principles (e.g. SOLID)

Nice to have: understanding of common infrastructure leveraged for ETLs (e.g. Airflow or other schedulers)
