LMI is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to support our USPS Network Modeling Optimization Team. Successful LMI Data Scientists demonstrate competency in data sourcing, data ingestion, data mapping, building data analytics processes, and communicating analysis results through informative reports, graphics, and interactive visualizations. In addition, LMI Data Scientists have demonstrated experience in collaborating with other Data Scientists and with effective communication with clients.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilites include:
  • Collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources
  • Develop, test, interpret, and implement predictive model results
  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to complex problems
  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists, engineers, and software developers
  • Communicate results to stakeholders concisely
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong proficiency in the Python coding language and related libraries, especially Pandas; or familiarity with object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience with data mining and machine learning algorithms
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with discrete event simulation
  • Experience with UI/UX tools such as Dash
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Active Public Trust Clearance
