Job Responsibilities:

The Data Segmentation Specialist will manage and analyze database details for the successful implementation of CRS’ renewal, sustainer, mid-level, acquisition, and special fundraising projects. Data upload across systems, duplicate record resolution across all systems.

Responsibilities include data analysis, data integrity management, data mining for donor segmentation, internal reporting, vendor support and other data fundraising projects as needed.

  • Creation and/or tuning of any SQL-based queries for use in the Donor Database reporting tools (JasperSoft, ClearView, Sales Force, SQL Query tool, etc.) to estimate record counts, data quality checks or to support ad hoc marketing analysis.
  • Maintain baseline configuration and compliance standards and level of manageability through established recurrent on-going data integrity activities.
  • Use industry best practices to execute the selects and segmentation within CRS’ relational database for multichannel direct marketing campaigns.
  • Manage internal clients’ requests and answer questions involving marketing lists, reports, labels, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Create documentation of business decisions related to file orders and segmentation such as suppressions, inclusions, and other data-driven components. Include tools used in database such as queries and parameters.
  • Analyze, interpret, and effectively communicate database(s) report findings to refine and enhance direct response activities and support/inform the planning and resource allocation process.
  • Identifying opportunities for workflow automation and develop automation within the endpoint management platform to increase efficiencies and decrease delivery time.
  • Work with Team to ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems.
  • Interface with other technical team members, internal and external, to establish internal reporting requirements, segmentation standards and overall data integrity.
  • Ensure the donor database is updated accurately and consistently from various sources such as lockbox vendor, web vendor, market research vendors, etc. This includes NCOA files and acquisition lists.
  • Create, upload and update the numerous mailings, web, event, etc., campaign and appeal codes in the donor database.
  • Successfully execute the running of the private donor acknowledgment program.
  • Support the Donor Portal and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to supply data as needed.
  • Service Now Ticket monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary backup to many of the functions of the Donor Database Manager, including but not limited to:


    • Creating of codes across all systems
    • Testing processes across all systems
    • Assisting with configuring surveys (Donor Voice)
    • Ability to troubleshoot issues for donor database users
    • Detailed knowledge of data stored
  • Additional duties as assigned.

This is a remote position with the possibility of traveling to HQ a couple of times a year.

Qualifications: (Requirements expected to fulfill the needs of the position such as education, training, years of experience, licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or work experience equivalent; mathematics-related discipline is preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience writing SQL queries
  • 1–2 years of experience using relational database applications along with various database reporting tools, desktop computer software including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Direct response marketing background with working knowledge of nonprofit fundraising communications programs and techniques is beneficial.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Due to the concentration of activity at year-end, there is a limit on PTO during our busy season which is from the end of September-beginning of October and December-January of each year.
