Data Strategy Leader

***This is a position local to Seattle and requires living within a commutable distance of the city.***


Who You’ll Work With

As a leader of our Seattle Data Strategy team, you will be responsible for the selling, delivering, and leading our data strategy capability. In today’s dynamic environment priorities rapidly shift across ensuring a healthy sales pipeline, monitoring, and leading Data Strategy engagements, and leading our team of data strategists, data governance consultants and business analysts. The primary areas of focus for a candidate are experience leading enterprise level D&A transformations, experience with enterprise data management and governance, as well as a proven history of successfully leading a professional services team in Data and Analytics.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the business development and account sales teams with pre-sales activities, concentrated on solutioning to meet client needs.
  • Lead data strategy engagements, including assessing current state maturity, future state maturity and developing comprehensive roadmap to achieve client goals.
  • Advise clients on Core Data Management solutions, Data Governance Programs, and modern technology approaches to Data and Analytics.
  • Work as part of our Data and Analytics leadership team to grow the Practice in Seattle.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching of team members to grow as experts and leaders.
  • Contribute to the overall leadership of the Data and Analytics Practice in Seattle.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in business leadership, with at least 5+ years consulting, specifically in data analysis, data strategy, and data engineering solutions.
  • Previous experience overseeing a business line of $3 M+
  • Create data strategies for clients, with the ability to confidently discuss requirements, priorities, potential solutions, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Experience with data glossaries and catalog using tools such as Axon, Collibra, Alation etc.
  • Thorough understanding of HUB architecture, Enterprise Integration, and SOA.
  • Track record in managing team members including defining clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Proven track record handling difficult client and team member situations, leveraging clear and concise communications that respectfully resolve the conflict
  • Excellent board-room presentation skills and senior client stakeholder management skills across the end-to-end client relationship.
  • Experience enabling clients to establish Data Governance Programs and to drive data ownership.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom prides itself on helping team members thrive in their work and life. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this position is $153,000 to $281,000 and the targeted base salary range is $175,000 – $225,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
