Database Operations Manager

We are looking for a dynamic Manager to join Global Managed Services and manage Database Operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing group of database administrators and developers in multiple regions to drive customer deliverables, internal projects to improve margin and increase team’s efficiency, and ensure database infrastructure is highly secured and performing optimally.

To be a successful DBOps Manager, you should have thorough knowledge and hands on experience in various relational databases with an aptitude to gain thorough knowledge of underlying products they support. Ultimately, an outstanding DBOps manager should excel at influencing and motivating the team, lead by example and provide necessary support to meet the desired goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Database Administrators in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions.
  • Ensure proactive performance/space reviews are done regularly for optimal database health.
  • Be top of ongoing issues and customer projects.
  • Provide technical support to team members as needed.
  • Responsible for incident/change and problem management
  • Develop and maintain backup/recovery procedures.
  • Ensure databases are secure and oversee SOC Audits.
  • Drive team’s efficiency with automation and process improvements.
  • Drive technology improvements with a futuristic vision.
  • Develop and grow the team members.
  • Review, develop, maintain policies, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Attend weekly resource planning meetings and participate in scoping discussions for new projects.
  • Work closely with other technical managers, program managers, customer support and engineering.
  • Work closely with R&D on upcoming product releases and NPI process.

Knowledge


MS SQL and Oracle Database experience

Has deep expertise in area of specialization


Resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways


Applies technical skills to a wide range of advanced technical issues

Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors


Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel

Experience


Min of 10+ years of experience in database development, administration, and 5+ years of experience as manager.


Education


Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
