Software Engineer - Fullstack (L4)

Deeply understanding what’s in the enterprise data has been a challenge that Databricks has been addressing by providing analytics and machine learning tools. From data warehousing with Databricks SQL to large-scale distributed processing with Spark and advanced ML tools for experimentation and model serving, we empower our customers to gain insights and drive innovation. With GenAI’s ability to understand unstructured data, there is a big unlock waiting to happen that will unleash domain specific AI agents for planning, researching and carrying out tasks on behalf of the customers.

To enable all this on Databricks, making data ingestion seamless is crucial. That’s the mission of the Ingestion Team: To make the ingestion of all data—whether structured or unstructured—simple. Simplifying the complex is hard, and that’s where you come in. This role requires building intuitive user experience to ingest high-volume data, at petabytes per day scale from diverse sources - cloud storage, event queues, SaaS apps and databases supporting different formats (XML, JSON, Parquet, CSV, text, blob) and landing them in Delta Lake with schema evolution, CDC (change data capture) capabilities.

As an engineer on team you will work on projects that

  • Simplify the ingestion journey across data sources
  • Enable e2e monitoring and observability into long running ingestion workflows 
  • Collaborate with partner teams to enable use cases like RAG and AI agents
  • Provide Quality insights (data skews, label skews) on the ingested data

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Typescript
  • Passion for user experience and design and a deep understanding of front-end architecture.
  • Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
  • Motivated by delivering customer value.
  • 3+ years of experience with React frameworks.
  • 3+ years of experience with server-side web technologies (eg: Node.js, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++,Go).

Bonus if you also have:

  • Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
