This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Business Development Specialist – Client Teams to join our team in our New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland offices.
We offer a hybrid work engagement with two days of remote work, and three days in-office.
This position will play a critical role in supporting the firm's client teams, working with the Business Development Director, CMBDO, Practice Management, and partner leadership to support, develop, and execute on strategic business development and marketing initiatives. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, a passion for client service, and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a professional services environment.

On a typical day you will:
- Support and drive client teams in the development and implementation of tailored business development strategies that align with the firm's goals and client needs.
- Support the growth and build-out of a client development team structure.
- Collaborate with BD research function in conducting comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for client growth and new business prospects.
- Lead the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials to support business development efforts.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Firm’s practice areas, including services, expertise, clients and competitors, serving as a “connector” for the client teams and individual lawyers.
- Collaborate with the Events and Practice Management teams in support of client events, webinars, and other business development activities to enhance client engagement and showcase the firm's expertise.
- Analyze client team and market data to provide insights and recommendations for business development strategies and initiatives.
- Track and report on business development activities, outcomes, and key performance indicators to measure success and inform future strategies.
- Support the Business Development team in ad hoc tasks, as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related disciplines and/or combination of relevant experience
- 3-5 years of experience within a professional service organization (Legal is preferred)
- Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to understand the Firm's mission and business priorities, practice activities and related market dynamics
- High levels of organization, communication and writing skills
- Flexibility, persistence, and resourcefulness
- High level of proficiency with all Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and previous experience with law firm CRMs (e.g. InTapp DealCloud, Foundation)
- Demonstrates proactive drive and follow up on projects while thinking outside of the box
- Strong multitasking and project management skills and understanding how to prioritize projects
- Demonstrates confidence and ability to work independently to enhance communications within and across practice groups, offices, and members of management
- Collaboration with the practice management team, the marketing team, outside vendors and consultants, and other administrative professional staff
- Some travel may be required

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $74,000 to $85,000 ($37.95-$43.59 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $72,000 to $83,000 ($36.92-$42.56 hourly); and in San Francisco is $85,000 to $96,000 ($43.59-$49.23 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $79,000 to $92,000 ($43.41-$50.55 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The annualized salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $76,000 to $85,000 ($38.97-$43.59 hourly).
