Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage the data systems, security, and integration for the Personnel Enterprise Decision Support System (PEDSS).

 

This position is on-site at either The Pentagon or our Reston Corporate Office. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer, test, and implement PEDSS databases, ensuring compliance with Army data policies.
  • Coordinate database updates, integrations, and security enhancements to safeguard Army personnel data.
  • Design and construct large relational databases, optimizing performance and system functionality.
  • Support the integration of new systems with existing data warehouse structures.
  • Implement security measures in compliance with DoD and Army regulations (e.g., DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST SP 800-171).
  • Perform database tuning, backup management, and data recovery planning.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in:
    • Database design, administration, testing, and implementation
    • System integration and performance optimization
    • Development of technical documentation
  • Experience with the following database technologies:
    • SQL, DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Datacom
  • Understanding of Army manpower and force management operations

Desired

  • An additional two years of technical experience as a programmer/analyst may be substituted for each year of formal education
  • Experience with CICS, COBOL, SAS, FOCUS and/or 4GL Client/Server & Web development tools
  • Knowledge of Army data systems, such as TAADS, PERSACS, and POSCEDIT
