As the Manager of FP&A GTM (Go-To-Market), you will be focused on value creation for DeepL. You will support multiple executives across the Sales, Marketing and Customer teams with cross-functional, strategic planning, data-driven business analysis, key financial and operational metrics. You will also support strategic opportunities that will drive profitable growth at scale.
The FP&A team is responsible for owning the company's budget, driving annual and quarterly planning processes, allocating and deploying the company's resources efficiently, performing financial and operational analyses, and partnering with teams across the company. The role requires someone who is highly analytical and strategic, can keep the big picture in mind while getting into the weeds, approaches problems in a structured manner, is a great communicator, and is comfortable with ambiguity.
Given that the GTM organisation is at the forefront of DeepL’s strong growth trajectory, you will get substantial visibility and focus on the highest-priority business issues.
Serve as the strategic business partner to the GTM organisation, with the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Marketing Officer as the key business partners
Develop and refine financial and operating planning models for topline metrics (including pipeline, bookings, NRR, GRR, and ARR) and supporting resources (headcount and non headcount opex) in order to set targets, perform scenario analysis, and guide the business on strategic decisions and influence performance
Prepare monthly and quarterly management and Board reporting, analysing performance results, distilling key trends, assessing business risk and supporting decision-making
Build investment cases for topline growth or define expense optimisation opportunities to improve GTM ROI
Perform ad hoc analyses to uncover key insights across GTM and present to senior leadership with implications and recommendation for course of action
Track and analyse key GTM metrics, including productivity, ramp times, pipeline conversion, churn & contraction, customer acquisition cost, etc.
Identify, initiate and implement process improvements that enable the FP&A team to scale
6+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity; preferably with some experience in a high-growth SaaS environment supporting GTM functions
Advanced financial modelling skills in Excel or Google Sheets is critical, and skilled in presentation tools like PowerPoint and Google Slides
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset
Ability to flex between partnering with senior leadership and working through data sets and detailed modelling, analysis and reporting
Excellent communication skills, including working collaboratively with diverse teams and influencing senior leadership
Team mindset with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation
Strong prioritisation, organisation and time management skills
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
