About DeKalb Brilliance Academy: Designed with input from nearly 1,000 South DeKalb community members, we are a tuition-free, public Kindergarten-8th grade South DeKalb charter school enrolling grades K-5 in 2025 (adding a grade each year). Our vision is that each child will know and leverage their unique brilliance to critically analyze the world around them and to design a better and more equitable future. Our school empowers students to be leaders by combining rigorous & relevant academics with social-emotional learning. About the Role:

The Special Projects & Data Manager is a critical cross-functional leader who ensures operational and strategic excellence through project management, data analysis, and organizational coordination. This role reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with leadership and team leads across instructional and operational teams.

Key responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Drive the execution of high-priority projects across teams, including hiring, performance management, survey administration, next-year readiness, and adhoc cross-functional initiatives.
  • Build and monitor project trackers and systems to ensure timely completion of milestones.
  • Create and manage internal communications around key initiatives ensuring clarity, transparency, and smooth implementation.
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment, surface risks, and drive decision-making.

Data Strategy & Analysis

  • Produce user-friendly data dashboards and reports for grant submissions, internal reviews, and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze assessment and academic data, as well as student, family, and staff survey results, to generate insights and trends that inform teacher and leader planning.
  • Prepare and present clear, accurate reporting for stakeholders including the governing board, funders, and charter authorizer. Support strong family engagement by ensuring data shared with families (e.g. surveys, progress updates) is timely, accessible, and actionable.
  • Lead rostering for school systems and coordinate ongoing updates throughout the year.

Governing Board Coordination

  • Serve as the liaison between the school and its governing board by managing meeting schedules, materials, minutes, and compliance documentation.
  • Support the Head of School in preparing board presentations and tracking strategic priorities.
  • Track and manage compliance-related data for grants, charter authorizer, and internal performance metrics. Surface risks early and ensure documentation and mitigation strategies are in place for project-related challenges.

Other duties as assigned

DeKalb Brilliance Academy has a charge from our community to build a different kind of education. Experiences

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in project management, data analysis, or a related field in or alongside K-12 schools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets (including functions like vlookup, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc)
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Start date: July 1, 2025 at latest - open to earlier start date.
