Summary of Position:
The Department of Cardiovascular Science/Center for Metabolic Disease and Research (CMDR) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels whose research program is in the field of biomedical science.
Candidate Qualifications
- M.D., Ph.D., or M.D. /Ph.D. in the field of Biomedical Sciences.
- Rigorous training and demonstrated ability to develop an independent, extramurally funded research program.
- Expertise and experience applying cutting-edge approaches in studying biochemical, molecular, and cellular basis of metabolic disorders and chronic brain, kidney/liver/vascular diseases.
- Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Faculty members in CMDR come from the LKSOM with the common bond being overlapping interests in metabolic disease research. All CMDR faculty members have academic appointments within a basic science or clinical department. CMDR also has adjunct faculty members, who are our close collaborators in research, from other centers/departments, universities or institutions. The CMDR has extensive research and education programs, and will facilitate collaboration and promote excellence in research, education, and service.
