In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of iOS, Android, and React Native applications, and providing technical leadership and strategic direction in large projects. While this position is not fully hands-on keyboard, this role will need to be able to contribute when needed and review mobile code and to provide detailed technical guidance. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in mobile development, technical leadership experience, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and the ability to drive large-scale projects from concept to completion.WHAT WILL YOUR DAY BE LIKE?• You'll provide technical leadership and oversight on large-scale mobile development projects for our clients. You'll ensure those projects follow architecture and engineering best practices and that any engineers on the project have the support they need.• You'll collaborate with many other roles from DEPT as well as our clients to make sure we deliver high quality products on time and within budget.• You'll help us with sales efforts for our clients, including scoping projects, estimating timelines and costs, and writing technical proposals.• You'll make sure that UI/UX Designs are feasible, perform well on a variety of devices, and fit within project budgets.• We'll look for you to stay updated on mobile trends and tech and put them into practice in client projects.• You'll act as a key trusted advisor on projects, providing insights and recommendations that align with our client's goals.• You'll participate in hiring efforts to help grow our mobile engineering team.• If it aligns with your career goals, you'll have the opportunity to manage a small team of mobile engineers.WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?The ideal person for this role has:• 7+ years of experience in mobile development. We expect deep knowledge of iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development. Bonus if you know Android (Kotlin) as well.• A strong understanding of mobile app architecture, CI/CD, design patterns, and best practices.• A track record of successfully delivering complex mobile applications from concept to launch.• Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Strong problem solving skills, is proactive, and doesn't mind working in grey areas to figure out a problem.• A passion for staying current with the latest developments in mobile tech and software engineering.• While it's not required, ideally you have:• Experience with React Native• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring engineering teams.• Experience in participating in sales efforts, including writing proposals and scoping projects.WHAT DO WE OFFER?We are a collaborative, open-door, best-idea-wins environment that fosters personal and company growth and has fun doing it. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling.
