The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing general accounting operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and competencies are essential for success in this role:

Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles
Timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
Oversight and execution of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and payment issuance
Management of Accounts Receivable processes, including customer correspondence, collections, and statement generation
Treasury management, including ACH and wire transfers
Completion of bank reconciliations
Maintenance and tracking of fixed assets
Participation in financial and other accounting-related audits
Support in other accounting functions as assigned

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Timely and accurate documentation of all work performed
Maintenance of complete and well-organized accounting files

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort large amounts of data (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc):
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar organization)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and work independently
Team-oriented, with a willingness to assist in other departmental areas when needed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance/accounting roles
Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Minimum of 5 years managing teams or direct reports
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required
