Remote Database Administrator

• Utilize your Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator. Expertise in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL databases is essential.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS RDS, DMS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, is required. You will manage and optimize these services for maximum efficiency and reliability.
• Implement and oversee database replication and scaling processes, ensuring our data infrastructure can accommodate business growth and evolving requirements.
• Take charge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and availability. Your role is crucial in maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of our data.
• Use DBA CASE tools effectively, both on the front-end and back-end, to enhance our database systems.
• Strong knowledge in Python is a must. You will apply this in various aspects of database management and optimization.
• Your meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills ensure smooth database operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are key to this role.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for team collaboration and documentation.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Experience with Ruby programming language.
• Extensive knowledge in Snowflake data warehouse infrastructure.
• Familiarity with streaming databases.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities 

• Design, normalize, and implement database(s) in accordance with cross-departmental needs.
• Define users and manage access permissions to data in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
• Minimize database downtime and optimize queries while ensuring best practices for SQL and NoSQL databases.  
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
• Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
• Monitor database performance, and implement changes and new versions when required.
• Collaborate with Engineering team members and provide support with other data-related issues.

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. The actual salary offer to a candidate will be made with mindful consideration of many factors. These factors include but are not limited to skills, qualifications, education/knowledge, experience, and alignment with market data for a given location within the US. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions. This salary data is for our US-based positions only.
