IMI - Project Controller

Primary Accountability:

As a Project Controller, you’ll be responsible for supporting one or more of our project teams by providing comprehensive financial support and implementation of Project Management controls. All in all, you'll be a valuable member of our Finance team, supporting our efforts to build lasting relationships and deliver on our promises. We’ll appreciate your attention to detail, prompt follow through, and superior communication skills as you manage month-end project settlement activities, plan appropriate budgets and forecasting, and analyze financial reports as a member of the Finance team. Sound like you? Major Duties:

  • Prepare project pricing calculations and documentation.  
  • Review all major project expenditures, ensuring timely and accurate project billings.  
  • Establish and maintain project budgets and overall cost control.  
  • Prepare Estimate-At-Completion (EAC) and variance analysis [budget vs actual].  
  • Drive project profitability and other performance metrics.  
  • Track, reconcile, and work to minimize unbilled project balances.   
  • Monitor and work to maximize project cash flow.  
  • Prepare risk and opportunity assessments.  
  • Prepare ad hoc project reporting and analysis as required for teams.  
  • Prepare detailed monthly project rolling forecasts.  
  • Participate in monthly project review meetings.  
  • Manage timely and accurate project settlement, preparing month-end project journal entries.  
  • Assist with contract closeout and incurred cost submissions.  
  • Support internal and external audits.  
  • Setup and maintain customer master data in the business system.  
  • Coordinate activities with support teams including Corporate Accounting, IT, HR, Contracts, and Supply Chain Management.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees and department managers.

 

We’re Excited About You Because:    

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or a related discipline.  
  • You have 3-5 years of experience relating to Program Controls, Project Controlling [cost-schedule-performance], and Financial Analysis.  
  • You have experience in developing project pricing models and performing scenario analysis.  
  • You possess strong organizational and analytical skills.  
  • You are detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and multitask effectively.  
  • You can work well in both a team setting and independently.  
  • You are capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and motivated to drive change and foster an environment to help achieve business results.  
  • You communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management, both orally and in written form.  
  • You have advanced level MS Excel skills with the ability to design complex models.   
  • You have a strong working knowledge of project accounting and GAAP principles.  
  • You have strong project management skills (PMI certification or equivalent a plus). 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read computer screens, email and talk on the phone.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Ability to lift up to ten (10) pounds.

 

Work Environment:

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
  • Interaction with team members and clients in both remote and on-site locations.
  • Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
