Job Summary:*
As a key member of the Digital Technology Team, the Developer Lead will be responsible for the maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting, and implementation of several direct-to-consumer websites for Shimano North America Holdings. The successful candidate with will have 5 years of Shopify development experience in a direct-to-consumer-facing capacity. The candidate should also be familiar with PIM systems for product content management. The candidate will manage the current PIM solution, including enhancements, data model changes, integrations, and business user support in current PIM application processes.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:*

  • Act as a Shopify expert, specializing in all facets of the e-commerce platform.
  • Work on e-commerce projects with different Shopify JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections, etc.).
  • Optimize websites to ensure they render consistently in cross-browser environments with the best SEO principles, caching mechanics, etc.
  • Ensure a 100% responsiveness of web design.
  • Shopify e-Commerce Web Developer must have experience in MySQL and Database Queries.
  • Working on e-commerce projects while coordinating with other key team members.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/JQuery is a must.
  • Experience and knowledge in Shopify's theming system, Liquid templating, and Shopify Online Store 2.0. Strong knowledge of Installing & Customizing a new Shopify theme.
  • Ability to build Shopify Apps, knowledge of Node.js, and understanding of anything that uses JSON REST API with Auth.
  • Knowledgeable in Headless storefront development.
  • Exposure to application development & ruby scripting.
  • Shopify Plug-in optimization and customization.
  • Shopify e-commerce Web Developer must have proven experience in working on large projects involving 5,000+ products.
  • Proven work experience in version control and source code management like Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite

Salsify*

Ensure a clear understanding of the application, supporting infrastructure, and systems integration. Provide application troubleshooting, monitoring and problem resolution to all internal and external contacts. Ensure a continuous evolution of the PIM.

  • Create standards as the PIM Data Quality and Workflow process expert, and act as a liaison between Creative, e-Commerce, and other PIM user groups
  • Ongoing inheritance, workflow, and syndication (channels, catalogs, etc.) maintenance and implementation to ensure data flow to partners and digital channels
  • Proactively engage with Salsify leadership/account manager to understand their product roadmap and future upgrade and release plans to advocate for new functionality.
  • Monitor and report on key data measurements, data issue resolution, and synchronizing content between our PIM platform and internal stakeholders to ensure data quality
  • Perform system administration of PIM, including enabling/disabling users, assigning/creating/maintaining security roles, supporting and training business users, working with the software vendor to resolve reported issues, and monitoring system performance.
  • Product Information Management (PIM) Certification - Administrator Level certification preferred

Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in the Shopify ecosystem
  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/ assignments.
  • Furniture product knowledge and furniture industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Salsify admin certification is a plus
