In a typical branch office, a financial advisor meets with clients and receives branch office support, so they can focus on building deep relationships with clients. Headquarters associates in St. Louis, Tempe and Mississauga provide support and expertise to help U.S. and Canada branch teams deliver an ideal client experience. Team Overview:
In 2022, Edward Jones invested $ 1 billion in technology infrastructure, digital initiatives, and virtual business enablement tools. We're currently in the test-and-learn phase and are looking for talented, motivated professionals, that want to be part of this transformational journey. Cloud-based architecture and modern technical capabilities will enable us to grow our impact while providing the best client experience possible.
Edward Jones is seeking a DevOps Architect to help lead our digital transformation efforts. This individual will be a member of the DevOps team that is responsible for enterprise architecture and drives IT digital transformation efforts. Our team's purpose is to accelerate the delivery of client-centric solutions, ensure the security of those solutions, drive consistent technology use, support transformation strategy, and provide adaptable architecture through continuous technology improvement.

What You'll Do:
Our DevOps team partners closely with the product delivery and technology team, guide the transition to future-state architecture, drives technology acceleration, and foster innovation to achieve business outcomes. These technology leaders maintain the DevOps architecture and keep up with the latest technology trends to promote continuous technology improvement in line with business strategies.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Creating a strategic technology direction, aligning it with tactical activities, and communicating plans within the team and our partnering teams.
  • Develop automation to improve team processes and the user experience of the Kubernetes platform
  • Develop/implement GitOPS prototypes and automation from a lower environment to a Production environment
  • Assess current on-prem and Cloud CI/CD pipeline processes, tools, and technology. Design architecture, develop a roadmap, and create execution strategy (including tools/tech). Will be an on-prem and multi-Cloud environment with the latest tools, GitOPs, and technology Enterprise-wide.
  • Analyze/Evaluate DevOps practices, and tools, and recommend new tools/tech/processes to enhance/improve Dev Productivity, Security, and Agility.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple audiences, including firm-wide business units, senior leaders, associates, and external vendors.
  • Broad technical skills across multiple architecture disciplines.
  • Work across multiple large-scale cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Will work in an Agile, Product Management, and DevOps environment.
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture best practices and objectives.
  • Act as a mentor for other engineers/developers

What you'll need

  • 15+ years of experience working across multiple technology areas.
  • Experience working across multiple large-scale cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Extensive experience with architecture best practices and objectives.
  • Extensive experience using CI/CD tools and best practices with both on-prem and cloud
  • Extensive experience with Software Development, Software security tools and best practices
  • Experience using common development and promotion tools: Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, YAML, Terraform and Ansible

  • In-depth experience working in an Agile, Product Management, and DevOps environment.
    • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and motivational skills.
    • Ability to implement guardrails and deployment methodology
    • Ability to implement automation across all platforms

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
