Digital Accessibility Engineer

What You'll Do

• Develop web and mobile accessibility strategies for our websites, ensuring that they are compliant with the latest accessibility regulations.
• Carry out regular accessibility audits of existing websites, identifying and resolving any issues.
• Work with web developers and designers to ensure all websites meet accessibility standards.
• Ensure all new websites are developed with accessibility in mind.
• Develop and maintain accessibility standards for all websites.
• Provide training and guidance to internal web developers on web accessibility.
• Work with third-party vendors to ensure all web development projects are compliant with accessibility regulations.
• Monitor industry trends in web accessibility and keep up to date with the latest regulations and standards.
• Provide technical advice and support on accessibility-related issues.
• Provide regular updates to management on the status of web accessibility initiatives.

What You Know

• 5-10 years of experience in web development, Mobile Accessibility, and Web accessibility.
• WAS or CPACC certified.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility regulations and standards.
• Experience with accessibility audit tools such as aXe, Accessibility Insights, NVDA, AWS, TALKBACK, and VoiceOver.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with web development frameworks such as React and Angular.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or related field.

Compensation Band

• $120-130k per year
