This position focuses on managing the quality and technical copywriting process, organizing, writing, and editing copy and the development and delivery of communications to members of Health Plan through many styles and media, with a focus on digital communications. Will serve as a key member of the Communication team to deliver member communications that adhere to Presbyterians member motif, style, and literacy guidelines, and compliance and regulatory standards. Requires expert writing, editing, proofreading and organizational skills. Will be accountable for the quality of all member communication outputs from all health plan departments, including communication delivery options. Must be able to understand both business and member views to translate necessary information logically so that it meets the needs of both. Explores innovation and automation in the development and copy and implements best practice methods. Collaborates with key internal departments and other writers to align branding and ensure content quality and effectiveness of all member communications. Will contribute ideas for future member communication needs, projects, and process improvements.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism, or Business. Three (3) years of health plan operations/communications or similar experience preferred. Ability to research, plan, organize, and oversee the implementation of short and long term projects, programs, and initiatives. Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to function under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to work with diverse group of internal customers. Intermediate skills with all Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of Outlook email system (coordination and management.)
Responsibilities:
- Produces and reviews copy for many different media and styles, including: digital/electronic media, promotional materials, newsletters, articles, and letters. Writes body copy, headlines, themes, slogans, catch-phrases, captions, product names and other copy to create effective communications. Understands requirements of the copy objective and produces core messages that drive all copy outputs. Determines best method to present information.
- Produces and reviews copy that is appropriate for the audience and meets standards for required reading levels as well as regulatory requirements as it relates to health literacy standards. Can adapt and refresh information to be presented to different audiences. Serves as a liaison with requestors to interpret their communication requirements.
- Manages Spanish translation services with approved vendors.
- Responsible for the quality of member print and mail requests, including formatting, recipient address accuracy as required by compliance and state and federal regulations
- Coaches and mentors Quality Communications users and stakeholders through individual education sessions as well as departmental staff meetings and ensures adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Develops, writes, and maintains new and existing departmental policies, procedures, measurement standards and quality assurance standards escalating issues related to compliance and regulatory policies.
- Manages and implements all audit activities to include preparation of materials for regulatory review.
- Adept at managing several writing projects at once. Able to produce with tight deadlines outputs in very short time periods.
- Supports users throughout the workflow process and regularly communicates with users and leadership regarding process changes and reminders. Collaborates with key internal departments and other writers to improve content quality and effectiveness of all member communications.
- Maintains awareness of current communication styles and trends. Explores innovation and automation in the development of copy.
- Responsible for tracking and updating performance reports to ensure performance goals and service level agreements are met and maintained for regulatory review.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with team members and users and gains trust by demonstrating strong organizational, multi-tasking, collaboration skills and a detail-orientation.
