About the Digital Content Specialist Position
This position will support the creation, revision, and configuration control of Lab-level procedures; and will assist with the collection and organization of digital content about PNNL functions, processes, and systems. It may also include other special assignments to work with teams across the Requirements & Records Management organization. This position will be responsible for using a variety of administrative, analytical, and technical methods and unique tools to help maintain the quality and reliability of PNNL’s requirements-based processes and controls.

This position is part of a team that partners with content stewards and subject matter experts to capture and manage requirements-based content and deliver it to staff in a simple, easy, and meaningful way. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with content stewards, subject matter experts, and other staff to create, develop, manage, and deliver content about the Lab and its mission.
- Ensure that appropriate requirements, procedures, controls, and other requirements-based content information is updated and available to Laboratory staff and delivered in accordance with plain language standards.

Maintain and follow procedures, standards, and desk guides describing content requirements, style, tone, organization, and management.

Provide excellent customer service while helping staff find, update, or create content.
- Administer the configuration of content in various review, production, and archive environments using internal operating procedures.

Maintain domain knowledge of content in various systems.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to staff about content management best practices.

Bachelor’s degree that supports the specialization practiced (e.g., English, Technical Writing, Library Science, Information Management, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management, Communications, IT) and one 1 year of related experience.
- Proven aptitude for providing excellent customer service and experience troubleshooting and resolving customer issues.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing.

Basic understanding of policies, procedures, and technical work documents.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat Professional (create and edit PDFs), and image file editor programs such as Photoshop.

Experience logging and tracking work (e.g., using service or "ticketing" software such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow).

Hands-on experience creating and managing information in a content management system (e.g., SharePoint, Drupal, WordPress, custom developed tools).

Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
