Description: The Digital Media Planning Associate will work as part of the Digital Ad Operations department to support corporate sponsorship for NPR. This department works directly with NPR’s sales teams to create digital sponsorship proposals for media campaigns that run on NPR digital properties, including NPR.org, NPR App, and NPR podcasts like Up First, TED Radio Hour, Planet Money, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! And Fresh Air.

Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in digital media and digital sponsorship. They will also possess effective analytical skills in order to propose the optimal amount of the best-fitting NPR digital products for each potential client. Candidates should also have a good foundation in Microsoft Excel and be proficient working with data and formulas. Lastly, they should have great communication skills and feel comfortable explaining digital proposal rationales to the sales team.

Job Location: Remote; East Coast preferred


Responsibilities


  • Create digital proposals ranging from $20k to $2 million in an order management system, based on a client’s target audience and objectives
  • Use ad serving tools such as Google Ad Manager, Megaphone, etc. to determine where inventory is available for a given product and date range
  • Manage a heavy workload, often creating or revising more than four proposals each business day
  • Inventory management – ability to analyze inventory sell-through and push clients to our digital products that are undersold
  • Transfer proposals into agency-provided excel templates – extreme attention to detail needed!
  • Develop a basic understanding of the capabilities of the latest podcasting ad tech


QUALIFICATIONS


Required Skills:


  • 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in ad operations or a similar field
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel
  • Outstanding attention to detail for quality assurance purposes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at a time
  • Ability to collaborate on a team of 20+ people in a fast-paced environment with large amounts of revenue at stake
  • Proven ability for project management and excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Skills


  • Experience with ad-serving platforms (i.e. Google Ad Manager, Megaphone) and order management systems (i.e. Boostr) is a plus
  • Enthusiasm for public media, its mission and its programs

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.


NPR Pay Range

$57,000—$57,000 USD
