Your opportunity

We are looking for a Competitive Intelligence (CI) leader to provide critical insights and strategic direction to propel the New Relic business forward.

In this role you will gather, analyze, and disseminate competitive intelligence to support our products, GTM, sales strategy, and execution. You will work closely with the executive leaders across product marketing, marketing, product, sales and other functions to identify and track key trends, competitors, and opportunities in the market. You will also develop and implement a CI strategy, supporting positioning and messaging, and sales enablement assets that help New Relic stay ahead of the competition!

This is a U.S. based remote role.

What you'll do
  • Define, manage, and grow the CI function and team over time
  • Lead gathering, analyzing, and disseminating competitive intelligence
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the industry
  • Turn insights into executable strategies that improve financial results
  • Provide strategic guidance into product visions & roadmap, GTM strategy, marketing strategy, content, and more
  • Interface and drive engagement with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner and gain consensus to drive desired change
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in competitive intelligence and analytics
  • Provide input in developing competitive positioning and messaging
  • Develop customer-facing and field enablement assets to ensure sales success
  • Adopt best practices across the industry to continuously improve internal processes
This role requires
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, management consulting, or competitive intelligence
  • Experience working in a player-coach model
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, a go-getter who figures things out
  • A change agent with excellent communication skills with the ability to present, negotiate, and influence
  • Strong technical depth and ability to learn quickly; balanced with sharp business sense
  • Ability to effectively partner with all functions from engineering and product to sales and marketing
  • Adept at influencing peers and managers and building consensus in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, DevOps, IT or related B2B software technology
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, degree in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Analytics, Operations Research and/or Masters preferred

Estimated Base Pay Range: $ 162,000 - $ 202,000
The pay range above represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan and a competitive equity package. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
