About the Role:

The Data Management Director will lead the newly established Data & Analytics (D&A) center of excellence across Heineken USA. As a newly created role, you will lead all aspects of data management, from overall strategy and governance to reporting and analytics. As the leader of a new function within the Data & Technology (D&T) team, you will work directly with business leaders, functional data analysts, D&T colleagues, and external suppliers to build the necessary relationships to align on and deliver the strategic and operational data agenda. You will be a key enabler of the HUSA D&A strategy through the setup of a new data operating model, establishment of data governance processes, and the prioritization and implementation of key analytical capabilities. You will be a expert for Heineken USA in the data realm and build awareness of data management and analytical capabilities across the HUSA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, execution, and oversight of new Data & Analytics Center of Excellence team responsible for: data management, data governance, data movement, data quality, data security, data dictionary, metadata management, data processes and methodology, reporting, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and other advanced analytics activities
  • Establish and deliver HUSA data & analytics strategy in alignment with HUSA strategic business plan as well as the regional and global D&T Evergreen strategies
  • Establish new cross-functional HUSA data community to facilitate data activities across company
  • Play leadership role in all data delivery activities from day to day general service requests to the migration of HUSA data ecosystem to the global platform
  • Build internal and external networks of contacts to advance the HUSA data agenda including data leaders across our regional and global teams.
  • Provide expertise and sign-off on ways of working, methodologies, frameworks, tools, policies, and processes developed by data management organization
  • Keep up-to-date with industry and competitor trends and ensure the appropriate development of the Data management team including new developments in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
  • Recommends new data investment initiatives; approves of key decisions with regards to data
  • Set direction of HUSA data management team to facilitate work environment aligned with Heineken USA culture
  • Manage data quality, data audit and data security activities that include routine reviews and reporting of technology policies and security compliance while sharing with data stewards to ensure implementation in the business functions
  • Strong focus on data feedback and continuous improvement, and improvement of data literacy for new data roles established within HUSA

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least 10 years in a data management related role, 5+ years of People Management experience, 5+ years’ experience developing a Data Quality Management service
  • Demonstrated understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse, Cloud Technologies, Big Data, BI & Analytics, Data Management, AI/ML, and Data Governance
  • Demonstrated experience with governing, implementing, and driving data management activities
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and develop talent, and construct a team to deliver operational excellence
  • Past record of successful data management related projects
  • Strong project and team management skills
  • Knowledge of industry trends and demonstrated commitment to stay up-to-date on new technologies
  • Experience with data quality management-profiling, cleansing, and data enhancement
  • An understanding of how data is used within business processes and its impact
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in information systems management, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • In depth knowledge of Collibra and how to best leverage the tool set
  • Background in Fast Moving Consumer Goods

Compensation: $165,000 - $185,000
