Director, Facilities and EH&S

PROCEPT® BioRobotics is a privately held surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. We have developed a revolutionary procedure called Aquablation® Therapy, performed by the AQUABEAM® Robotic System, the first FDA cleared, automated surgical robot for removal of prostate tissue in males suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). SUMMARY

Procept is hiring a leader for Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). This role comes with overall responsibility for Procept’s facility(ies) and EH&S through a combination of internal team and external service providers.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be required as assigned)

Facilities Management

  • Ensure that our facilities are safe, comfortable, effective, and productive for all personnel and visitors
  • Serve as primary point of contact between landlord and company to address day to day issues and to ensure compliance to lease terms
  • Participate in negotiation of lease and related agreements
  • Champion day-to-day facility operations to ensure service reliability and work environment standards are achieved
  • Plan and execute buildouts, relocations, decommissioning, furniture solutions, and maintenance activities; coordinate necessary facility modifications including estimates on construction, equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs
  • Deliver innovative workplace hospitality services and operations for the facility including meeting & event services partnering with event planning, food service, shipping and receiving, custodial, receptionist, and supplies management
  • Establish effective processes to monitor, inspect, and maintain all buildings and equipment to ensure efficient operation of all systems (including mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing, etc.)
  • Serve as liaison to senior management and regulatory agencies, (e.g, OSHA) on all facility matters
  • Partner with third-party vendors, service providers, and contractors to ensure proper proposals and implementation

EH&S Management

  • Lead the development of EH&S strategy to improve safety performance, reduce accident/injury/illness incident rates and control workers’ compensation costs
  • Assist management in development and reporting of EH&S performance metrics to facilitate continuous, ongoing improvement of the EHS efforts and results
  • Conduct routine, scheduled facility inspections and audits to monitor and detect potential safety, health, and environmental hazards. Ensure PPE compliance among employees recommend corrective action or preventative measures where indicated and appropriate. Process reports, documents findings and actions taken.
  • Develop/maintain facility emergency response plans and ensure drills are performed to document plan effectiveness.
  • Assist with performing root cause analysis of all EH&S incidents and assist in case management of reported injuries.
  • Ensure the company remains compliant with all OSHA and other safety related regulations as well as insurance carrier requirements. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Environmental Health & Safety regulations
  • Ensure the SDS database is up to date for all materials. Ensure required employee environmental and safety training is completed on-time and documented.
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Policy
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics EHS Policy

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certifications)

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 12+ years of facility and/or EHS management experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC, Elevator, and Fire Life Safety systems
  • Solid knowledge of property and facility management, leases / contract review and construction terms and practices
  • Knowledge of CALOSHA Safety and Health Standards
  • Certified Safety Professional – CSP and or OSHA Certifications preferred
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Approachable with a bias to action and a high level of attention to follow through
  • A positive and high-transparency approach to your work

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If Applicable)

  • Manage other team members as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment and may work remotely as schedule permits. The employee will occasionally be exposed to engineering labs, a machine shop, and manufacturing clean rooms. The environment is subject to moderate noise from machinery (IE machine shop equipment, the PROCEPT Aquablation unit, computer equipment, printers, etc.), for which proper hearing protection may be assigned and worn
