Director - Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Director with advanced flow cytometry and cell sorting experience to lead and direct the Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Shared Resource. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flow cytometry and cell sorting technologies and experience in managing a team of scientists.

St. Jude’s flow core has a lot to offer and below are a few standout points:

• Amazing instrumentation – 7 sorters (including a Bigfoot Spectral Cell Sorter) and 7 analyzers (with likely approval for the new BD S8 Cell Sorter for FY24)
• Large team – Currently staffed with 10 FTEs and 1 open FTE to be hired by the new director
• Focus on service and institutional impact to research; not cost recovery – expected to recover only 25% of institutional support
• Custom-designed space with over 3000 sqft
• Encouraged to bring in new and innovative techniques and instrumentation to expedite scientific discovery
• All positions are institutionally supported with hard money
• Widely used and impactful resource used by over 80 labs each year from nearly every department
