The Director of Global Benefits and HR Operations will provide functional leadership on strategy, compliance, competitive positioning, financial oversight of global benefit plans, and comprehensive HR compliance and operational support to the US/Canada region.
This role will represent the Total Rewards team's benefits function and colleagues representing global compensation and HR technology. The successful candidate will act as a global benefits leader and resource to HR and will collaborate strongly with finance and legal colleagues. Third-party vendors and consultants will need to be effectively managed to ensure the most beneficial outcomes in terms of services and costs for employees and Teleflex.
Global Benefits
- Incorporate the global employee benefits philosophy and strategy in all countries, driving local plans and practices across all regions to align with global guidelines
- Provide consulting expertise to local HR and business leaders on local benefit programs in terms of benchmarking, marketing, cost analysis, and fiduciary compliance, as needed
- Monitor and present analysis of costs, market competitiveness, and compliance with global benefit guidelines as well as trends, opportunities, and recommendations
- Manage all global benefit programs, including travel accident insurance, multi-national pooling program, EAP, executive benefits, and the international employee health benefits
- Research and propose additional global benefit programs, as needed, aligned to external market(s) and/or Teleflex internal people and business strategies
US/Canada Benefits
- Set the strategy and direct the planning and administration of effective and competitive US/Canada health, welfare, retirement, time-off, and other benefit programs. This includes complete oversight of plan design, governance, communication, administration, and compliance.

US/Canada HR Operations
- Set the strategy and direct the planning and administration of effective and efficient HR compliance and operations.
- Regulations and compliance related to Federal Contractor status
- Affirmative Action, EEO, and OFCCP requirements
- I-9 and OIG (Office of Inspector General) requirements
- Unemployment administration and compliance
- HR policy regulations, including anti-harassment, drug & alcohol-free workplace, solicitation/distribution, employee relations/problem-solving, workplace violence, FMLA, reporting criminal convictions
- Program design, benchmarking, and administration related to HR programs, including tuition reimbursement, service awards, car allowance, and severance
- Bachelor-level degree in a related field
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, including 5 years of management experience, a minimum of 5 years of benefits experience; 1-2 years of global experience preferred
- True subject matter expert on benefits
- Expertise in accessing benefit and HR operations market practices, data, and trends globally
- Strong financial acumen, including managing budgets and performing costs analysis as required
- Competence to effectively manage vendors/brokers to a desired outcome
- Aptitude to think and operate credibly effectively in a global arena
- Strong verbal and PowerPoint presentation skills
- Ability to effectively influence and persuade business, HR, and other colleagues and leaders
- Capacity to create and maintain constructive cross-functional relationships with corporate functions, including finance and legal
