This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of DE&I will report to the VP of DE&I and will be responsible for developing and implementing various programs designed to advance the company’s commitment for a more inclusive workplace. Following are critical business areas of support and leadership:
Work Environment: The person in this role will create, facilitate and implement programs designed to address and advance discussions on gender equity, disability, gender orientation, and generational differences at a global level. They will interface with HR Business Partners and other HR Centers of Expertise to assess business needs collaborate on projects, educate, and deliver programs that drive corporate culture change.
Work Environment: The individual will be responsible for interfacing with the HR Operations Team on the review and assessment of policies and processes in place. They will be responsible for making recommendations on modifications to improve workplace equity and ensure fair practices. (i.e. review of Hiring/Promotion Processes, Human Rights Policy, LGBTQ/Transgender guidelines, etc.)
Workforce: Will partner on the design, interpretation and use of Employee Engagement survey data to assess patterns and recommend DE&I programs to support the businesses. They will play a critical role in collecting reviewing and assessing Human Capital Dashboard data and surfacing trends that may need to be addressed. The individual will be responsible for data collection and trend analysis interpretation of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Index Survey, Diversity Inc. and Human Rights Equality Index Surveys,etc.
Work Force: Lead development and execution of programs in partnership with HR Business Partners and COE members, designed to enhance diversity awareness in the workforce, improve work environment inclusion and enhance the marketplace
Operations : The individual will not have direct reports but will work with vendors (10) and employee groups to support projects/initiatives that will be executed. Will co-facilitate various programs, as well as lead enterprise initiatives. The individual will provide input to the overall DE&I strategy. May be asked to represent the company at external events on diversity committees.
Other : Will utilize external network of DEI relationships, contacts, and best practices to ensure that McCormick continues to implement initiatives keeping us competitive in the market. Will assist in educating the HR and broader McCormick employee base in DEI vision, initiatives, and priorities. Will work closely with VP, DEI and Corporate Communications team on messaging and ongoing information sharing
The director must have strong relationship skills and the ability to translate ideas/concepts into practical and measurable solutions that support the leaders’ understanding of diversity and inclusion business needs as it relates to workforce development and the sustainment of a positive work environment where employees feel valued for their skills and talents. The individual needs to be able to develop and execute customized business solutions focused on removing cultural barriers, guidance on intersectionality and addressing gender/gender orientation issues.
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or other related field of study
8+ years of experience in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Management. Other experiences Human Resources, Employee Relations, Corporate Culture Change Management
Proven record of leading and implementing large scale global programs, in the diversity, human resources, or change management space.
Working experience in managing, leading and coaching on diversity, equity and inclusion such as race, nationality, intersectionality, gender orientation, gender differences and disabilities.
Ability to negotiate and manage vendors as well as pull together larger scale proposals and presentations.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to create a safe space and work with individuals of various backgrounds and walks of life.
Ability to partner and collaborate across multiple functions
Ability to interface with frontline employees and senior leaders globally.
Able to operate strategically and tactically
Strong Business Acumen
Intercultural Project Management Skills: Ability to design, develop various programs and initiatives focused on diversity/intercultural topics such as gender/gender orientation/ race/ disabilities etc. and deliver to frontline employees and executive leaders.
Strong Analytical Skills: Has demonstrated strong understanding of conducting and using benchmarks and data to measure impact of initiatives. Able to develop reports, and present metrics. Familiarity with talent acquisition and talent development processes as well as employee relations processes and impact.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Diversity Management, Employee Relations, Executive Coaching, Change Management and/or Human Resources
Able to travel globally up to 20%.
