Director, Head of Technical Recruiting

We're looking for a Head of Technical Recruiting to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career. 

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll work with Flatiron’s technical organization and lead a team of recruiters and sourcers to attract and hire world class engineers and technologists. At Flatiron, Recruiting is a partner that is vital to the success of our mission, and therefore we take a company-wide team approach to meet our robust hiring and growth targets. Reporting into the Head of Recruiting, you will partner with our engineering leadership and hiring managers to understand and anticipate their needs and priorities in order to help advance our business objectives and grow our workforce. You will work with your team to identify and engage passive candidates and manage the full-cycle recruiting processes for all technical hires. In addition, you'll also:

  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of 6-8 which is comprised of technical recruiting managers, technical recruiters and sourcers holding them accountable for hiring across all our technical roles 
  • Develop a scalable recruiting strategy for our Software Engineering and Specialized Technology hiring while keeping DEI at the forefront of our efforts 
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of hiring managers and senior stakeholders to execute against key hiring objectives 
  • Be a subject matter expert and stay connected to the competitive landscape, including compensation and employment brand trends 
  • Define consistent data-driven hiring metrics and goals 
  • Manage and execute on full recruitment life cycle on senior and executive searches
  • Evaluate, improve and streamline current recruiting processes, tools and technologies 
  • Champion and identify recruiting strategies for diversity, equity and inclusion within the technical organization 

Who you are

You're a resourceful technical recruiting leader with experience helping organizations hire talent by sourcing, pitching and closing candidates. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who is able to proactively adjust to shifting priorities, and values the chance to make an important impact. You bring a wealth of knowledge to the team to help inform recruiting best practices, senior candidate / stakeholder management, as well as enjoy providing mentorship to your team.

  • You have at minimum 7 years of technical recruiting experience 
  • You have at least 3 years of people management experience with recruiters and sourcers 
  • You have demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders / hiring managers and are able to work with, influence multiple facets of the organization cross-functionally (VP, C-suite, etc)
  • You have experience managing a full life cycle recruitment process, specifically with closing senior and/or executive level candidates and negotiating complex compensation packages
  • You are driven by an analytical approach and understands the importance of tracking metrics to help build effective and scalable teams 
  • You are passionate about healthcare and the fight against cancer

Extra Credit

  • You have at least 4 years of experience working in house  
  • You have experience working in small and/or large technology companies
