Director, Medicaid Strategy and Growth

Summary of Position

The Solution Strategy team is the connective tissue between Teladoc Health’s sales and product teams. We serve as subject matter experts on Teladoc’s products in support of external sales conversations and are responsible for taking feedback from the market and aligning with our Product (and other internal teams) on investments in product roadmap to better serve market needs.

We’re looking for a subject matter expert on the Medicaid and (ideally) Marketplace lines of business that can support our continued growth. Our services are currently available to 11M+ Medicaid beneficiaries in 24+ states and we’re expecting rapid growth in this market as state Medicaid regulations evolve to support consumer adoption and demand for virtual care services.

The primary responsibilities for this role will be to advance the strategic vision and growth for the Medicaid and Marketplace lines of business.

This role will identify market opportunities, develop a strategic roadmap for growth, product development, and market expansion. This role will be the leader responsible for the day-to-day activities for all Medicaid & Marketplace related projects / initiatives and working with other teams to ensure we’re meeting regulatory requirements. This role will work closely with both external and internal functional leaders to identify and fill necessary gaps and services to deliver a seamless experience for our partners and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain strategic roadmap for Medicaid and Marketplace services
  • Grow business and share of market within Medicaid and Marketplace lines of business by working in close collaboration with sales teams
  • Build strategic customer relationships at the C-suite decision-maker and influencer levels at strategic Medicaid and Marketplace partner health plans
  • Partner with product teams to identify gaps/unmet needs in the market that would drive value and growth
  • Work closely with internal partners to deliver on expansion of services as laid out by the strategy, including but not limited to product, clinical, data science, implementation, reporting, compliance, government affairs, legal and finance
  • Support partner teams as they hone internal processes and service delivery for Medicaid and Marketplace products

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
  • 5-7 years of complex strategic high-growth market development
  • Proven track record of success working within Medicaid and/or Marketplace, preferably with a health plan and/or selling services into health plans
  • Ability to understand state by state regulation and regulatory changes and translate them into implications for our business
  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • Consulting experience and strategy development experience a plus
  • Experience in a complex business-to-business environment, healthcare IT and services, technology and/or professional services experience
  • Demonstrated success navigating the health care ecosystem to drive growth
  • Experience managing and selling virtual care services such as telehealth and chronic care programs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g. excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in both small and large group settings)
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with highly talented professionals

The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $200,000.00. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2023. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
