POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chamber seeks a senior fundraising and corporate relations professional to lead engagement with high-level members, managing day-to-day C-Suite relationships and identifying and cultivating new revenue opportunities. The Director will serve as a key leader in retaining and growing existing Chamber members, developing deep partnerships, and leveraging those relationships to deliver member value and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate super relationship management skills and have deep experience and expertise in partnering directly with C-Suite executives to understand goals and deliver opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of the Chamber’s significant members in a given industry or industries, working closely with C-Suite decision makers and government affairs leaders. Meet or exceed annual revenue and retention goals within assigned portfolio.
- Actively engage members across the year to deliver value, through regular connections and touchpoints, news and policy updates, and event invitations and opportunities.
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and retention goals within assigned portfolio; lead the development and implementation of an integrated and strategic revenue plan to grow existing accounts.
- Partner with the Chamber’s new business team to proactively identify new prospective members within portfolio’s industries, ensure new members are on-boarded smoothly and impactfully, and contribute to new business proposals and pitches.
- Create customized KPIs for each portfolio member company to define success, demonstrate value, chart progress against strategic goals, and exceed members’ expectations.
- Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues to constantly identify new areas of interest for members throughout the Chamber’s advocacy offerings, deliver contracted benefits, deepen overall engagement, and unlock additional areas of investment.
- Work closely with finance and operations colleagues on revenue forecasting, renewal planning, invoicing, and engagement tracking, using the Salesforce platform and other tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years’ experience in fundraising/sales or member or client relations.
- Past work experience in professional services, political fundraising, membership organization, government affairs, communications agency, or media company, preferred; direct revenue responsibility, required.
- Superior relationship management experience and sales skills; strongest client service ethic.
- Strongest presentation and persuasion skills; confidence when conversing with of C-Suite leaders from large corporations in a business development capacity.
- Excellent written communications kills, a passion for details, and an obsession with accuracy.
- Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics to turn them into digestible, compelling sales opportunities.
- Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and a deep appreciation for the contribution that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and understand stakeholder issues impacting prospective member industry/organization(s).
- A growth and learning mindset characterized by openness to challenging assumptions at the organization and personal levels.
- Strong techniques around guiding sales messaging with diplomacy, tact, and sensitivity for a range of audiences; organizational and business savvy.
- Data-driven approach to utilizing a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track progress, identify trends, and grow engagement.
