Director of Accounting

Ribbon Health is seeking a Director of Accounting to help build our growing finance team. In this role, you will have full ownership of general ledger activities, financial statement preparation and monthly management reporting. You will develop and maintain standards and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. A key responsibility will be to build a high-performing accounting team by recruiting and hiring multiple direct reports. Lastly, you will drive continuous improvement by constantly evaluating the systems and processes required to support a rapidly growing company.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Finance with regular exposure to Ribbon’s executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong working knowledge of the latest GAAP standards (including ASC 606), internal controls, and experience working with external auditors. Key to success in this position is excellent business acumen, strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership ability, and a healthy degree of empathy for your teammates.

What we're looking for in this role

  • Progressive professional experience in public or private accounting, culminating in oversight responsibility for the monthly close in a distinct business unit or company
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; prior experience managing several direct reports across multiple accounting disciplines
  • Detailed knowledge of US GAAP and especially ASC 606
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and ability to create internal controls policy
  • Detailed knowledge of audit requirements and ability to liaise with external auditors
  • Comfortable with an enterprise accounting system such as Netsuite, SAP, SAGE, etc.
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment with broad responsibility to manage multiple project simultaneously

Your day-to-day

  • Build a high-performing accounting team by recruiting, coaching and mentoring multiple Ribbonites while leading by example
  • Supervise all aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close; own preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Own the development and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant statutory reporting requirements
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams, including FP&A, Legal, and various business leaders to drive key system initiatives & improvements
  • Support external audit requirements
  • Supervise accounting operations including A/R, A/P and cash management
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and special projects as required
