Overview:


Crestline Hotels & Resorts is on the hunt for someone who has a passion for owning a world-class benefits program and a desire for employees to live better, healthier & more prosperous lives. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Benefits will join our HR Management Team with primary responsibilities being management of the 401 (k) and Executive Deferred Compensation plans, as well as general oversight of the company's Employee Health plans. The individual will have supervision over 2 other team members.


A strong background in 401k administration and Executive Deferred Compensation plans is preferred as well as working knowledge of self-insured plans.


Our next Benefits Leader should be able to:

  • Be a hands on leader
  • Manage the 401(k) and EDC programs and work with the 3rd party plan administrators and consultants
  • Maintain all plan documents and reporting and be responsible for responding to audits
  • Be responsible to ERISA compliance and all compliance testing
  • Oversee funding of employee and employer contributions
  • Reconcile contributions, loans and trust activities
  • Lead and manage the design and administration of all employee benefits programs, policies, and procedures including developing benefits strategies and recommendations based on organizational needs and/or regulatory changes
  • Evaluate and implement changes to the employee benefits programs to improve the cost, service, value, and administrative performance of the programs
  • Negotiate and manage broker and other vendor relationships to assess the cost, quality, and value effectiveness of our health and welfare programs
  • Provide strategic input regarding benefit plan integration during hotel acquisitions
  • Identify, monitor and respond to trends across benefit programs
  • Engage, advise, and partner with business managers and employees on specific benefit or wellness related issues
  • Partner with HR team on all benefit-related opportunities and educational needs.


The successful Director of Benefits will be:

  • Able to work independently
  • Able to work well with Senior Executives
  • Experienced with 3+ years benefits management experience in a mid-large scale company
  • Someone with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of regulations impacting benefit programs
  • A solid project manager with proven organizational and time management skills
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and implementation
  • Someone who can effectively prioritize while achieving results


Education and Experience:

  • 5+years experience in benefits management in a large, complex company of 2,000 employees or more with numerous plans across the portfolio
  • Experience designing, developing and implementing employment benefit, health, retirement and wellness programs & policies
  • Experience evaluating and implementing benefits administration systems
  • Experience identifying, monitoring, and responding to developing trends across a broad array of benefit programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of United States Federal and State regulations impacting employee benefit programs
  • Tactical expertise and knowledge of benefit program systems, processes and tools, gained through a career of increasing responsibility in benefits
  • Strategic expertise and knowledge of benefits governance, plan design, laws and regulations, related financials, legal, regulatory requirements, keeping benefits regulations & compliance in mind
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and implementation
  • Superior organizational, project/process management, and technical skills as demonstrated by an ability to manage multiple detailed projects and drive towards deadlines
  • Bachelors degree in HR, Accounting or related field;
