Director of Business Development: Portal Boston

We surround these entrepreneurs with the resources and community they need: seed capital, fully equipped lab space, and expertise and introductions to other investors and partners.
Currently, we are actively searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Director of Business Development in Boston, MA. As a Director of Business
Development at Portal Innovations, you will play a vital role in expanding our network and driving the growth of innovative life sciences companies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the efforts to identify new member companies to join Portal’s Boston Southline laboratory, a thriving hub for Boston’s life science startups
- Establishing a prominent presence within the Boston Life Science ecosystem. Through active engagement with key stakeholders and expanding your network, you will discover promising early-stage life sciences companies that have the potential to become successful investments for Portal or prospective member companies.
- Taking charge of identifying and managing a pipeline of potential member companies.
- Leading negotiations with potential member companies and overseeing the entire sales and closing process. Your strong business acumen and interpersonal skills will be instrumental in forging mutually beneficial partnerships and driving successful outcomes.
- Collaborating with sponsors who wish to support Portal’s programming in Boston, and to gain a deep understanding of their goals and objectives. By aligning their interests with our network of innovators, you will foster meaningful partnerships and create value for all parties involved.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Experience in the life science industry (pharma, biotech, med device).
- 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales.
- Proven ability to prospect and develop new business, including building prospect lists and successfully transitioning prospects to clients.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
