Director of Financial Operations

About the role:

Liftoff is searching for a Director of Financial Operations to lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions. This role will be responsible for leading a team of 10+ individuals in both the US and Singapore as a trusted advisor to the VP Controller. The primary responsibilities will be to ensure operational efficiency in core billing and payables processes. This role requires excellent communication skills and proven attention to detail while effectively managing teams and delivering timely results. Strong technical expertise and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders are essential to be successful.


Location:

This role is eligible for remote work in the following states:

  • California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the functions for AR, AP, T&E and Payroll and understanding the levers and drivers
  • Finance accountability for completeness and accuracy of figures processed including earnings, expenses, profit and loss
  • Provides advice on financial viability and cost-benefit analysis to the management team
  • Key contributor in establishing and executing strategic process enhancements throughout the accounting organization
  • Ensures financial reporting requirements, expectations and timelines are agreed upon and met
  • Support period end close activities in accordance with agreed close
  • Provide operational and decision support from a Finance Perspective
  • Support external audit requests
  • Conducts various ad hoc projects and reporting
  • Responsible for planning, developing, managing and reviewing the billing, collection, payments, expenses and payroll processes
  • Partner closely with accounting and finance counterparts
  • Proactively identify potential problems to streamline and improve productivity and accuracy of the process

Requirements:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in financial positions of growing responsibilities
  • Professional designation in CPA, CA, MBA, is preferred
  • Excellent professional level written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient with accounting software required, NetSuite is preferred
  • Detail oriented; ability to generate output with a very high degree of quality
  • Outstanding leadership abilities with demonstrated ability
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze information and demonstrate deep thinking
  • Understanding of business and system analysis, including root cause analysis and other process modeling and systems design methodologies

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location.The minimum base pay for this position in the US depends on the location and falls in the following zones:
  • SF Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Orange County: $175 900
  • Seattle/Olympia, Austin, Boston, San Diego, Santa Barbara: $158,310
  • All other cities in our approved to hire states: $149,515
