Job Summary
The leader of the Shared Services group works with the business and corporate leaders to address the organization’s focus on enhancing the customer experience, operational discipline and company-wide areas of scalability and efficiency, performance improvement and service enhancement.
The Shared Services Manager role includes management of AP, AR, Treasury and Credit and a total of 10 employees covering transactions on a local basis. All roles and responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the VP of Accounting/Controller.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Specific areas of responsibilities:
- Cash applications and collections
- Credit policies and customer reviews/management
- Vendor maintenance, set up and relationship
- Cash disbursements paying to vendor terms
- Banking/credit card relationship
- Month End reporting and management of key KPIs related to functional areas (i.e., DSO, DPO and Aging Analysis)
- Establish and implement credit policy
- Manage AR bad debt reserve
- Oversees employee training, day to day activities and performance management and provides assistance as needed
- Implements internal control policies and procedures for all relevant financial areas of responsibility and ensures compliance with company policies, including appropriate accounting treatment
- Provides direction and advice on proper handling of non-routine transactions as required.
- Support accurate and timely month and year end close activities; including reconciliation of AP, AR subledgers and related accounts
- Respond to inquiries from senior management and handle special requests
- Evaluate company processes, procedures, controls and systems technology to determine the most efficient work process opportunities
- Assist with annual bank and tax compliance activities in a timely and accurate manner, including review and issuing of 1099’s
- Reviews functional areas of responsibility and identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance
- Certified Public Accountant a plus
- Public Accounting Experience a plus
- 3-5 years of relevant experience including employee supervision
- Experience with Wells Fargo Commercial Electronic Office (“CEO”) system a plus
- Experience with major ERP system preferred and experience with Infor M3 a plus
- Able to prioritize well to meet deadlines, follow-through, and delegate as appropriate
- Develop effective working relationship with fellow associates, managers, outside representatives and agencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with credit management and working with large customers
- Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- A collaborative management style and a strong customer service orientation
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
- Employee must exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
