Chapin International is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Director of Maintenance at its Mt. Vernon Kentucky Facility. Chapin offers an excellent benefits package as well as competitive compensation based on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Maintenance oversees all aspects of the plant technical applications and processes. Directs the activities of the maintenance and technical staff (Mold Setters), in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. Supervises all technical personnel across all three shifts. The Director of Maintenance will manage and execute the PM schedules, make repair of all equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates and maintain an adequate spare parts inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Support the day to day manufacturing operations and provide technical support to other departments

· Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, document process changes, drive process improvements

· Drive new product roll-out process as liaison between design engineering to manufacturing

· Capital equipment acquisition: specifications, analysis, purchase, lay out, and implement

· Plant floor layout for manufacturing changes

· Troubleshoot problems on the shop floor and develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs

· Understands workplace safety, forklift safety, and reports all safety concerns to the manager

· Supervise the activities of all technical operations

· Responsible for the maintenance and efficiency of all production machinery, tool room machinery, vehicles, air compressors and other equipment in the plant

· Provide staff training in a variety of safety and maintenance topics

· Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices

· Maintain good employee relations; takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required

· Keep records of departmental activities, as required

· Responsible for the Preventive Maintenance program

· Ensure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department

· Assist in evaluation of new systems and equipment. Verify that all systems are in safe operating condition and in compliance with all company, local, state and federal laws

· Perform other duties as required or directed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· 5-10 years of experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· High degree of knowledge of machine and equipment design, maintenance, repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems required. Good understanding of troubleshooting techniques & problem solving skills

· Ability to problem solve, find solutions within existing material handling systems

· Experience with plastics (blow molding experience is a plus)

· Experience with metal fabrication

· Ability to plan, assign, and direct the work of subordinate employees

· Management/Leadership Experience a plus, and must be able to communicate concisely and work with a variety of skilled, unskilled, professional, and administrative personnel across all levels of the organization

· Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics

· Ability to manage multiple projects- plan, organize, and prioritize

· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
