The Director of Operations will direct the execution and performance of all Americas WD-40 Company Operations, including Customer Relations, Transportation, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, and Distribution Network. You will also develop technology and automation within the manufacturing and packaging network to support WD-40 Company’s unique innovation efforts effectively.
In this role, you will utilize your strong interpersonal and communication skills and be flexible enough to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is incredibly important. You will succeed in this position if you have these skills and understand inventory control, transportation, and other supply chain-related knowledge.
This role will have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule from home and the San Diego office.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the execution and performance of all Americas WD-40 Company Operations including Customer Relations and Demand Planning, Transportation, Warehousing, Manufacturing and Distribution Network and the manufacturing / automation equipment that supports them, which will result in WD-40 Company’s ability to maintain and increase sales as well as reduce operating expenses.
- Authorize the use of internal and external organizational resources and strategic relationships with suppliers to identify and seize opportunities for improvements in quality and service and reductions in cost and lead time in the Operations functions which will contribute to sustainable reductions in our operating expenses.

Provides oversight and coaching of the demand planning process, S&OP and SIOP processes. Operational lead for developing the appropriate demand planning software tools and their integration into ERP system.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the inventory management function in the development of inventory execution, SKU rationalization processes, and inventory control practices. Maximize the composition of inventory and increase inventory turns. Assure inventory control processes and procedures are continually evaluated and maintained to ensure accuracy of inventory management through best practices. Identify, develop and implement tools that increase the effectiveness of the inventory management team.

Approve an aggressive, realistic customer demand, operating and capital budget each fiscal year including the capital expense for automation strategies. Guide the operations to meet or exceed that budget. Be a good steward of the WD-40 Company economy by establishing and executing corrective action plans when meeting budget is at risk which will provide stability to and reductions in cost as well as stakeholder confidence in our ability to say we will do what we say we will do.

Establish and maintain key supplier relationships, identifying relationship strategies to be applied to each supplier and executing those strategies. Setting performance metrics, measuring those metrics and providing feedback as needed to accomplish improved results which will provide improved service levels to our customers and contribute toward increased sales.

Anticipate the stability of strategic warehouse and transportation suppliers and ensuring business continuity and contingency planning in case of instability. Ensure that business negotiations result in agreements that can be sustained long term by all parties successfully. Ensure that efforts towards cost reduction do not increase vulnerability to business risk which will ensure long term lowest costs versus short term lowest costs.

Complies with all legal and policy requirements related to employment practices; supports and executes the global legal and intellectual property compliance policy and process to ensure the protection and growth of the assets of the company. Owns Sarbanes-Oxley processes in area of responsibility.
- Leadership: Demonstrate servant leadership in the attainment of corporate, department and personal goals through developing and leading a highly effective team. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Admin or equivalent experience.

Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Behavioral Science field, a plus.

Certified by professional associations and ongoing education in Supply Chain management research and education

15+ years of leadership experience with strong problem solving, change management, analysis, and process orientation.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading an operations organization to successful metrics.

Aerosol, manufacturing, automation, and consumer goods experience.

International business experience and exposure to other cultures.
