As the Director of Product Marketing, you will lead, own and deliver the product marketing strategy globally. You will be playing a key role in helping Appvia’s products gain traction in the market as well as support our Sales team with clear messaging and competitive market research.
You will bring a level of persona and market intelligence that, not only helps build a solid value-based content strategy, but also maps to the customer cloud journey in regards to their maturity and education.
- Develop product positioning, value proposition and messaging that differentiates our products from others in the market - training Sales (sales enablement) and rest of the business on
- Develop and manage content strategy, with a clear understanding of the various maturity stages of our potential customers
- Developer segmentation messaging, positioning and product value content
- Understand our buyer personas, motivations, building out a solid marketing plan from education through to conversion.
- Build community around the product, working closely with demand generation
- Communicate the product, how it works and why a customer should use it; through various mediums - written, diagrammatic and video
- Plan, lead and execute product launches - work together with product, sales and the rest of the marketing team
- Proactive in speaking to customers, partners, customer success and sales teams to be connected to customer problems and the issues they face
- Competitive analysis of similar technologies and cloud offerings, the markets they are entering now and in the future to drive competitive analysis and positioning
- Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint venture propositions
- Proactively sharing learning internally with sales, marketing and product teams.
Requirements
- Have come from a technical background, ideally an Solution Architect/ Product / Developer or Operations background historically who has moved into more product or technical customer focused roles
- Credible understanding of the software defined and/or cloud native industry including Kubernetes, Containers, CI/CD, Cloud
- Product Marketing background with a proven track record of planning, building and executing against a product marketing strategy GTM
- Highly communicative and good understanding of how to convey complex technology benefits to a wide range of personas; from C level to Engineers
- Start-up mindset, ability to collaborate with both the technical and commercial teams internally
- Ability to demonstrate some of the work you have delivered and the impact it has had
- Great, creative storytelling based on both customer problems, emotional impact they have and the outcomes they want
- Ability to get hands-on with the product to qualify positioning and work closely with Solution Architects to empathise with problem
- Experience building on GTM strategies
- Experience building compelling stories through motivating and influential content
- Experience working with analysts, driving product awareness and customer testimonials
