About the Team:

You'll be working as an important part of the senior leadership team crafting direction for your organization and directing improvements to our infrastructure. This team is integral in helping our advisors and consumers recognize the value of the SmartAdvisor platform. The leadership team is visionary, dives into the details when appropriate, seeks continuous self-improvement and guides the technical direction of their organizations. About the Job:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to our engineering managers and software engineers in the development of their careers
  • Collaboratively work within the technology organization and non-technical stakeholders to apply the principles of the Agile methodology in developing, executing and delivering the product roadmap
  • Continuously improve the process of delivering software at scale
  • Partner in the career growth our technical team, including your own
  • Improve the capacity of your teams by identifying and hiring key roles
  • Partner in technical decision making and provide strategic direction to your scrum teams
  • Understand and anticipate the needs of engineering managers to ensure multiple scrum teams are able to perform at their peak

Skills / Experience You Have:

  • 12+ years experience in a highly technical role
  • 10+ years experience providing leadership and management to software engineers
  • 3+ years experience in managing managers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communicating technical needs as part of collaborating with Product leaders as they define product roadmaps
  • Leadership in promoting best practices and high quality code through your managers to your teams

Skills / Experience Preferred:

  • Articulate in a variety of modern web and non-web technologies
  • Familiarity with software architecture principles
  • A love of computer programing - the role is mainly leadership but an occasional proof of concept or bug fix may be necessary
  • Extensive experience in interviewing good-fit engineering candidates
  • Demonstrated proficiency of planning, prioritizing and realizing technical improvements in the coordination of a technical scrum team
  • Skillful in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • You thrive in learning from colleagues and mentoring others

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island, Washington, and New York City residents* Minimum Salary of $146,700 - 263K + equity + benefits.

Salary at SmarAsset is determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the contiguous United States.
